Anja started working for the digital agency The Reference 25 years ago and became its Managing Director in 2007. Under her leadership, The Reference grew from 30 to 160 experts working in multidisciplinary teams across offices in Ghent, Antwerp, and New York. She fostered a strong company culture, promoted dynamic agile collaboration with long-term clients, and built a management team that combines result-oriented thinking with multi-disciplined teamwork. Anja also played a pivotal role in opening The Reference’s Manhattan office in 2017 and in acquiring the US agency Karbyn.
After 25 years at The Reference, she now serves as a managing partner at Speakersbase, where she shares her expertise in sales, marketing, and leadership vision.
